Purpose
To give high school students the opportunity to be role models, mentors, instructors and supporters to Westfield youth lacrosse players.
Eligibility
Must be a current high school student who had participated in a minimum of two full seasons of Westfield Lacrosse Club.
Application
All potential candidates must complete an application and apply either online or by mail. Details on applying for the 2010 season will be published later.
Board Positions
All Posts will include supervision by a WLC Board Member or Coach.
- Jr. Coach: Work with individual coaches to work on skills & drills with players. Required to come to at least one practice a week
- Beginners: 3rd /4th grade girls, 2nd, 3rd, 4th grade boys
- Travel Intermediate: 5th/6th grade girls, 5th and 6th grade boys
- In –Town boys: 5th/6th grade boys
- Advanced Travel: 7th/8th grade girls, 7th and 8th grade boys
- Public Relations: work on promoting the WLC programs and teams with local papers, online and in schools
- Clinics: run pre-season and in season skills and drills clinics for the kids
- Logistics: Help with lining fields, stringing goals, uniforms and equipment operations
- Lax Day Coordinators: Work with board members to plan and execute our annual Lacrosse Day event
- Bridge Program: adopt a program to bring the great game of lacrosse to those kids in the inner city. Considering Jersey City. Fundraisers, equipment drives, skills clinics
