Below are the most commonly asked questions.  If your question is not answered, please send an email to CovidWestfieldLacrosse@gmail.com.  Thank you.

1.  What are the WLC policies concerning face covering/masks?

Answer

Coach – WLC coaches are to exhibit proper wearing of face coverings (covering nose and mouth) from the car to the field, during the practice/game/event (unless involved in strenuous activity) and on the way from the field back to the car.

Player - Before and after each practice/game/event players are required to enter and exit the field wearing a mask. When they report to designated stations on the sideline, they are then permitted to remove their mask and enter the field of play.  When not in the field of play, players are to wear masks.

Parents/Spectators – As of February 1, 2021, the Township of Westfield does not permit spectators at events.  At all events where spectators are permitted (consistent with the State of New Jersey's Department of Health guidance), all spectators must wear a mask, observe social distancing, and stay home if sick.

Referees - It is expected that all Referees for WLC Home Games will enter and exit the field of play wearing proper face coverings and will maintain coverage during the pre-game conversations with each team.

2.  What are the WLC policies regarding travelling?

Answer – As of February 22, 2021, if a player/coach travels out of New Jersey for more than a twenty-four (24) hour period, that player/coach must stay out of WLC activities for a period of fourteen (14) days.

3.  Can I verbally check my child/participant in at practice/game/event?

Answer – No.  In order for a child/participant to be permitted to participate in any practice/game/event, the child/participant must have either a completed electronic health questionnaire (and show green thumb to coach at checkin with date of event) or a completed paper health questionnaire and turn into coach on date of event.

4.  Can the players bring their own cell phone to show the Coaches that the health questionnaire is completed?

Answer –  A participant/player (as they are a minor) may not complete the health questionnaire themselves and present to coach.  A player may produce a screen shot of the “green thumb” screen forwarded from the parent/guardian’s phone that has the name of the player and date of event.  If the participant is using a paper health questionnaire, the player/participant may turn in the paper questionnaire with their coach.  If the player cannot meet these requirements, the player will not be permitted onto the field of play.

5.  Who do I contact if I or my child/participant or my family develops symptoms or is diagnosed with Covid-19?

Answer – WLC asks that you notify your child/participant’s head coach and send an email to so that WLC can undertake the necessary and appropriate contact tracing.  The email is password protected and only accessible by WLC Covid authorized board members.

6.  Are spectators permitted at WLC events?

Answer – It depends.

Currently, the Township of Westfield does not permit spectators on its fields.  If this restriction is lifted (consistent with the State of New Jersey's guidance), no more than two (2) spectators are permitted per family.  Masks must be worn on the sidelines.

Spectators are permitted on County fields.  Per New Jersey guidelines, no more than two (2) spectators are permitted per family.  Masks must be worn on the sidelines.
